Design is storytelling: And every nest—on stage or at home—deserves to be crafted with care, clarity, and a little bit of magic.

At StudioNest Designs, we believe that every space tells a story—whether it’s a sunlit living room or a scene on stage. Founded by award-winning designer Ryan Ross, StudioNest was born from a lifelong love of theater and interior design, and a belief that great design should be both deeply personal and widely accessible.
StudioNest Designs was created as a natural extension of that philosophy: a boutique studio where interior and scenic design intertwine, and where every project begins with deep listening and ends in something extraordinary, intentional, and unique to you.
Whether you're dreaming of a new home, a vibrant theatrical set, or a fresh take on a lived-in space, StudioNest offers a one-on-one collaborative approach, exceptional design detail, and a commitment to making design affordable, accessible, and personal.

Founder & Creative Director, StudioNest Designs
Ryan Ross has spent a lifetime immersed in the worlds of design and storytelling. Long before founding StudioNest Designs, Ryan was building sets in his backyard, sketching room layouts in the margins of school notebooks, and performing onstage in community theater productions as a kid and teenager. Those early experiences—where creativity, collaboration, and transformation lived side by side—instilled a deep love for the way spaces can shape stories and bring community together.
That passion led Ryan to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design, where he graduated summa cum laude and quickly made a mark in the design world. His work has been honored with first place in the PAVE Global Design Competition, as well as top awards in both the IIDA Northern Pacific Chapter Charette and the Western Regional Charette, celebrating his ability to merge his collaborative approach with creative vision.
Over the years, Ryan has designed for a wide range of residential interiors, known for his ability to listen closely, think deeply, and create environments that are both highly personal and functionally refined. At the same time, he’s stayed close to his theatrical roots through set design work with Vashon Center for the Arts’ youth musicals and the island’s beloved Drama Dock, creating imaginative, immersive spaces that support young performers and community storytelling.
